“We’ve been involved in hunger issues for a long time and I realized I don’t really know what it’s about. One in six Americans didn’t know where their next meal was coming from at some point in the last week and I wanted to understand at a very personal level what that feels like,” he says.

In an effort to help provide an answer to the hunger problem, Panera has opened five Panera Cares Community Cafes across the country where people can pay whatever they can afford for a meal.

For breakfast this morning, Mr. Shaich had dry cereal and water and made chickpea soup for both lunch and dinner. “The only veggies I’ve had are the canned tomatoes in my soup,” he says. “It’s very hard to eat well. Money really provides choices.”

Mr. Shaich has stopped drinking espresso to save money and as a result, says he’s had headaches and felt cranky. In need of some sugar, he bought a fireball from someone at his office for 25 cents

I actually don't like the days I don't have class. Kind of loving this college thing now that I'm at an actual university as opposed to a community college. Is professional student a career path?

There was a guy at my college who had been going there for about 10 years by the time I arrived. His parents were basically paying for him to be a permanent student because it was cheaper than having him institutionalized. So, yeah, if you (or someone willing to subsidize you) can afford it.

I heard about that ad on Twitter. What the fuck was that? I don't want to see the male version. Also its sadly funny and disturbing that they threw in a clearly obvious attempted rape/creepy bit at the end considering their terrible comments on rape and abortion. Ugh.

Lots of great shots in that. I loved the B&W of the spray-paint guy in the mask in front of the wall. And the shot of the woman watching the guy on the laptop. Very beautiful lighting.

Thanks man! The woman watching the man is one of my most recent shots. I feel that my lighting work is improving and I shot that one with a new lens as well.
