Second page. The first page is all of the "Mainstage Season" nominations. The second page is the Coffeehouse and Special event nominations. They don't complete with each other because of the difference in audience.

1st: Congrats, Fez. Awesome news.
2nd:
Either Rolling Stone is staffed by drooling morons, or somebody thought they could get their brand in the news in some kind of desperate move to be relevant again. I've never purchased a single copy of their rag, and now I will never start.
I'm actually a bit confused as to why putting him on the cover is controversial. Is it because people think Rolling Stone only has pop stars on the cover or something?
Also, RS continues to have some of the best written, most poignant opinion pieces and social-political journalism, far out shining anything from any of the major news papers.
Well, when I think of Rolling Stone's covers, I think of celebrities. Intentional or not, it's the image they've forged for themselves in my mind. I have no problem with them running the article, but plastering his image on the cover seems to me to send a message (whether unintentional), that if you kill a lot of people, you'll become famous.
You will.
That same picture ran in countless news publications as well. If anything, I think RS is making a statement on that.
You will ... because media companies continue to sensationalize these events. Somebody's got to break the circle and take responsibility for perpetuating it.
It's also just his old myspace pic, right? The same one that's been on the cover of the New York Times, and plastered all over CNN and every other news networks? It's not like they had a Rolling Stone photoshoot of him. The issue has a featured article of him, they put one of the only images available of him on the cover. The whole thing is honestly weird.
Congratulations, Fez! That's freaking incredible!
I had the ol' 8-11:30 shift today (with an expense paid breakfast mind you) and was hoping to meet up with the MCers in San Diego. Too bad they're still in LAX waiting on Chromebook Man.
I may meet up with them on Friday, depending on plans.
With that, walked around the downtown San Diego area for the first time ever. With ComicCon building sets everywhere, there's lots of good energy, and it's nice. Where else would you see a statue of Sonic the Hedgehog? I walked past the convention center, and there were already hundreds in line to get their passes. Gaslamp District seems very fun, and I like all the minisets being built to promote whatever TV show/movie they want.
Very nice and clean downtown area compared to many other cities I've been in.
Sven, PM me your number, and I'll text you as well. I bet Monday night will work, but I'll confirm that afternoon.
So much discord on the Match Cut these days.
And frankly, I, from time to time, probably contribute to it.
I would like to extend apologies and an olive branch to all my MC brethren that I may have inadvertently (and at other times, let's face it, quite on purpose) pissed off.
I don' t always take the proper amount of time to think about things that set me off -- time needed to form cogent rebuttals -- and for that I apologize.
People that I may have offended, I assume you know who you are -- Duke, Irish, Meg, maybe Wats (Wats, you were always my fave), and any others, I have only one thing I'd like to say to you:
[]
It seems to be in the air, everywhere - online and IRL.
There is a kind of mass agitation happening, and I think it's happening worldwide.
There are a lot of people sick of a lot of the shit going on in the world. It's a worldwide feeling of unrest that can quickly turn into anger.
To people on Match Cut I may have inadvertently pissed off -- Russ, B-Side, Mara, amberlita, Qrazy, Raiders, KF, and Russ again, oh hell I should just link to the list of registered users -- I'd like to extend this Louisville Slugger and say:
Good. We both know I was right all along and you deserved it.
[]
All these posts should be in the news thread or in this thread.
One of my fondest recent MC feelings is realizing how much I like (you) Irish. It's easy to see a contrarian upstart, a word-mincer, a devil's advocate, but when I step back, I realize that 90% of his (your) posts are totally awesome, full of perspective and reason and challenge, and I love that he (you) frequently are one of the first to dive in with information and assistance.
Besides, even if it was the case, Lord knows how much I love me a good word-mincing contrarian.
Fuck you, Russ and Irish.

Wow. Thank you. I .. I'll be with you in one sec, Sven. Got something in my eye over here ...
YOU! How could I have left you off the short list? You DEFINITELY deserved it.

I'll beat ya like you're on a fishin' trip with yer father.
Excerpt from an e-mail this morning:
This lady at work is making my life interesting.Quote:
She continues to keep her bathroom sinks water running for several hours a day and even when staff asks about it she denies it. Staff has gone into her bedroom to turn it off despite her begging staff not to do so and believe in America.
