Ha. My street doesn't have a "st." It's really confused people when I've given them the address.

I checked the weather and then actually cried aloud in despair at my desk.
99-102 degrees all week; at least 60% humidity.
Commence wilting.
Back in the office after a 2 week vaca.
I feel refreshed.
I get why this kind of heat makes me sweaty, and my hair wet, and a general wilty look.
What I don't get is why I am suddenly so dirty. Does the dirt, like, only cling to you when you're wet? Suddenly I have smudges all over.
(By the way, if you catch me after I've been gardening in this weather, I actually look kind of terrifying. Since I have a community garden plot, I have to walk half a mile home in a state where my own mother wouldn't recognize me. There's sweat, and dirt, and often blood!)
See Mara, it may possibly hit 80 this week in Newport Beach...
I totally forgot about PF Flyers. Ordered a pair of black ones today.
"I grew up with my dad listening to old Daft Punk."
Someone said that on the music production forum I go to.
Ouch. Right in the old bone.
Interesting map correlating Baltimore homicides with vacant houses.

Cheap rent on Fremont and Franklin!!!
All it takes is being around my nephew/nieces for more then 30 minutes and I'm reminded how glad I am that I don't have kids.
I usually have the same thought process. But I went home this last weekend and spent a lot of time with my two nieces and newborn nephew and loved the shit out of every minute. The baby is incredibly content and well-behaved and the 3 year old is an absolute blast. She's the funniest kid I know.
The 5 year old I would love to smack, however.
Man, I love spending time with my cousins children. They're ridiculous and wonderful. Of course they eventually become teenagers, who are the absolute worst.
BTW guys, yesterday and today I've arrived at work at 6:30 a.m. Putting in 3 10+ hour days this week.
See Duke, even I have to work a lot sometimes. ;)
Spent time at the District Court this morning because that's always a fun time.
Two weird stories:
I was waiting for an office to open so I could file some paperwork, and I was sitting on a bench near the security entrance. A young girl bounced in, all smiles, with an ankle monitor on. She went through the metal detector and it beeped, and she looked quizzically at her ankle.
The security guard laughed and said, "You left your belt on." Then he put his hands on his hips, rolled his eyes, and said, "Come on, Stacy, this isn't your first rodeo."
I would pay good money to know that story.
Secondly, when I was sitting in the court room, a man was sitting behind me, and he suddenly started crying. He was trying to be quiet but he was breathing heavily and trying not to sob. I felt sorry for him. I was there as a landlord in a rental dispute, but they often fold in various criminal or traffic offenses, so I wondered if he was worried about breaking parole, or something.
Later, when court finally started, they went through restraining orders first, and he was the first defendant. He got up, and so did his wife (from the other side of the courtroom.) She had a small baby in a sling and her arm wrapped in bandages.
And I was mad. I was actually angry at this guy, because I had felt sorry for him. I felt like he should give it back.
question for matchcut: what does the guy in the video say after saying "holy shit" and before "shit is crazy"?

Sounds like "Pissssss!!" to me.

Seattle MCers. I'll be there Sunday evening-Tues afternoon.
Could possibly meet up Sunday night or Monday night. It'd probably have to be downtown as I don't really feel the need to rent a car.
