So many great things here.
You would think, with my job, that I would spend all day every day being grateful that I am (more or less) mentally sound, able to support myself, and able to live independently.
But it hits me strongly only every once in awhile. This week is an excellent example.
I'm working on the symbol for our farm signage.
Corel Painter is an awesome program. Combined with my Wacom, I feel like I could do a lot of cool stuff with this.
If only I had more skill
A teacher of mine from college who was a stand-up comedian and aspiring actor is now living in the states and starting to make a name for himself.
And because of this, I am now getting "People You May Know" recommendations on FaceBook of real actors and actresses and their legit pages. A recent "People You May Know" sidebar loaded on my page that recommended Anna Kendrick, Olivia Wilde and Jason Bateman.
I peeked at their pages. Oliva Wilde has some serious road rage issues
Anna Kendrick's main photo is really cute. Totally au naturel, no make-up self taken photo.
I wonder if she's going to log on to FaceBook and be recommended Braden Adam as a friend??
I bet that Wilde has the same issues with the idiots out on the road that I do :P
Kendrick has always been gorgeous so I'm not surprised.
Currently my Mac laptop makes a strange wiring noise whenever I try to turn it on by itself and I'm only keeping it on right now by plugging it in. I was afraid the end was coming for it eventually since said laptop is 7 years old, but I'm rather broke and was hoping it would last me at least another year. Time to quickly backup all flies and write down all of my bookmarks.
New mash-up. Wolfgang Gartner's 'Illmerica' and Prodigy's 'Funky Shit'.

Spun Lepton, you will probably like this.
Very few things get on my nerves as much as people who claim that there is no good music being made anymore, especially when these people are 35+ in age.
I hate hearing my speaking voice in recordings. I sound like a 10-year-old.
Yeah, a lot of them are prob die hard rock and rollers with little appreciation for music of other genres. I'd say that rock (of the 60's and 70's variety) and jazz are maybe in a slump right now compared to golden ages of years past but there's so much great electronic (and all it's various and enormous sub-genres) and hip hop music being made currently.
I got into a stupid argument with some dumb guy who said PROUDLY that the new Black Sabbath album is the first album he's purchased in 20 years, and that it was about time there was some good music again.
:WTF:
So yeah - classic rock guys are the worst.
There is a TON of great heavy rock and metal being made right now. Shoot, one of the best bands in the genre - Leprous - put out a new album this month.
Jazz right now is insanely good. Every month there are awesome albums coming out on ECM.
There is so much good stuff right now - films, books, music, games - that's it is impossible to keep up with it all.
Davis doesn't like Daft Punk.
One of his many weird bizarro opinions.
I'm with Davis on Daft Punk, they have a couple tracks but overall not a very compelling sound.
I've always wondered how someone who listens to Classic Rock and Jazz stations on their car's satellite radio don't cause highway pile-ups from dozing off.
