Ha! After eulogizing dear Earl, and watching his famous clips of FMB, it only brought to mind this notorious deconstruction and one of my favorite mashups ever:

I first heard this song thanks to NPR, and I love the lyrics.

There's a band that took their name from the movie Labyrinth? That's amazing. Good song, too.
Right now I'm listening to Coldplay's Low which is a great track. This was inspired by me seeing them on Austin City Limits on Tuesday-they're rather awesome, live, I would love to see them in concert one day.
4AM - Church
A continuous mix EP of original hip/trip hop from by buddy in SF.
Dunno how to/if you can embed Soundcloud links but this new Scott & Charlene's Wedding jam is a jangly gem.
Damn, Oz is on fire lately.
And the new Liars song is probably best single track I've heard from 'em.
Wouldn't go that far, but it's pretty great. Apparently they've been doing a lot electronic and sampling experimentation which should be real interesting to hear. Following their tumblr, which has random brief clips from the album with wonderfully weird and/or unsettling accompanying videos, has been entertaining. These guys are pretty much the best band around these days.
It's probably cos the new one sounds so much like the direction Total Control's heading in that it's my favorite.

I'm a sucker for a catchy pop song, and the latest from Delta Spirit is catchier than most:

Many years ago, this was my introduction to the darkness of Thomas Ligotti. One of the scariest things ever written and recorded.
