I have always been under the impression that "Indian" was a derogatory term towards aboriginals/natives.
Since, you know, Indians are from India.
Not as bad as the n-word for blacks, but I thought it was somewhere along the lines of calling a white person a "cracker" - disrespectful.
Or is it like the n-word, in that they can call themselves and each other Indians, but if someone else does, it's bad?
It's technically incorrect, but I don't think many people consider it derogatory.
Yeh, I guess it's worse when you refer to them as In-juns. That's probably what I was thinking of when I thought Indians was the derogatory slang.
In any case, I refer to them as Natives. Just seems proper.
You might want to ask her why she uses the term Indians. I imagine she would be happy to explain if your curiosity is genuine. The answer might be enlightening.
All groups of people, just like people themselves, have their good and positive qualities.
That said, personally, I fear aging more than I fear death.
OK this is quite a serious question I am posing. I am putting it in spoilers because I want only people who are willing to give me a serious response, because it is actually starting to worry me a bit. It's a medical issue. So yeh, if you can't give me a serious answer, either don't read it, or don't bother replying.

I know I should probably go to the doctor for this, but I am really scared about what they could possibly find.
Don't let fear keep you from getting this checked out. You need to go to the doctor immediately. It could be something relatively simple. A kid I knew in high school had a similar problem and it turned out it was "tangled", for lack of a better word. It happened while he was playing soccer. They did a minor procedure on him and he was fine.
But I don't really do any intense physical activity...aside from walking every day and going to work - which is not labour intensive at all - I can't imagine what could cause an injury like that with me.
Do the symptoms I ddescribed sound similar to what your friend had?
If something is wrong, its wrong. Not going to a doctor isn't going to change that. Don't be scared. A doctor might be able to fix it. Doing nothing can potentially make the problem worse.
Go to the doctor. It'll set your mind at ease just knowing.
A big part of my fear is that I still haven't switched doctors from that guy that suggested earlier in the year that I go on a diet consisting of a handful or two of berries every day.
I think this will be incentive enough to do it, though. I'll call Monday and book an appointment with another person.
Unfortunately with the wait times in Canadian hospitals/ER's, I'd probably be waiting 'til Monday anyways.
Plus I just don't have time this weekend...homework, work, etc. I'll call Monday for sure, first thing.
My two cats have been infested with fleas of late, so my girlfriend took them down to the vet yesterday and got them Frontline. Today, the white cat literally has dozens of little dead flea bodies hanging throughout his coat. The stuff is amazing.
Don't fuck around with pain like that Megs. It could be a...
