Been having a terrible last few days and now I was trying to update my phone and the software is like "Nope, sorry, by the way, have fun with factory settings, dumbass" and I'm getting to the end of all patience with everything.
My son won monster truck show tickets at school today. That's EXACTLY how I wanted my Friday night to go. :|
Also, my snowblower broke down one strip into doing my driveway after getting four inches of really wet, heavy snow this morning/afternoon.
These are actually a lot of fun if you get into the spirit of the thing.
Two tips:
- Bring ear plugs. The engine noise is much louder than you'd expect, and you'll be listening to it for a couple of hours.
- Bring aspirin. The fumes will probably give you a headache by the end of the night.
Welp, it's been nice knowing you, hair, but the bald spot has won.
I shaved my head today. Honestly? I think I can pull off this look!
No, just shaved it using the shortest comb on the trimmer. It's shorter than I've ever worn it. I'm not ready for "slap mah head" bald.
I don't have the bald spot as genetics gave me hair that's thicker than hell, but I am prematurely graying. I remember getting my first gray hair at 21. I'm about 3-5 years away from either A) dying it or B) getting married.
I'm going bald, but I'm just not ready to shave my head yet. I do get really short haircuts, however. I'm not bitter about it, although I wouldn't be even a little bit angry if I was still skinny like in my early collage days. I miss not having a beer gut far more.
I've been shaving my head (1 and a half) for the last two years or so more out of convenience. I have the opposite of the balding problem. My hair grows way too fast and I have three cowlicks which makes doing anything with my hair difficult.
A customer touched my face today. I found it very rude and off-putting.
I don't have many grays in my hair, but my beard is getting pretty silvery. It's odd, but it could turn out cool.
I've never had a gray hair. My mother has very little gray, and my grandmother only had isolated gray strands up until the day she died. I don't really expect to gray much.
Why did they touch your face?
It was a 50-60 something lady with her contractor and they were in trying to find some tiles to redo her bathroom. I showed her some in the look she was going for and at a good price, and then gave her my card (as I do with all customers).
She said "oh thank you so much!" and kind of caressed down my cheek and gave my goatee a tug.
It was weird.
I'm starting to get little silver hairs here and there, but so far it's minimal. I'm 29, soon to be 30.
My hair isn't receding, though, so I plan to eventually get a John Slattery thing going on.
I'm pretty much in the same boat, similar age, though I've had stray silver hairs ever since college. It doesn't make me feel old. I have very thick brown hair that I refuse to dye and so I consider this nature's way of giving me highlights. I kind of like it, so long as it remains something nobody notices unless I point it out to them.
By the way, I applaud that you chose a "John Slattery thing" rather than a "Steve Martin thing". Wise decision.
