Werewolf game, as Thirdmango said, is awesome!
It's a game with cards, but the cards only tell you who you are (what character, mainly a werewolf, a villager, a little girl, or other characters) without the others know. The rest of the game is how you can persuade or bluff others...
There is also a moderator and the game alternates between a night and a day phase.
So, we are in a village which is hunted by werewolves. During the night, everyone sleeps, we all close our eyes, and the werewolves wake up, they decide to kill one villager. The day arrives. The moderator tells us who was killed during the night. Then, everyone tries to find out who are the werewolves to get rid off them and has to choose one suspected person. It's time to defend yourself, or accuse others, persuade or bluff everyone. Once a person is suspected to be a werewolf after a final vote, this person is dead and show his card to reveal his real identity. If he was a villager then the village lost one person, if he was a werevolf the team of werevolwes lost one werewolf.
And then another night is coming....
We played the simplest way, because some of us never played it and were drunk... also many cheated.... even at the end some really felt asleep....
But there are other characters, the little girl, the lovers, the witch....
We played also another game, called 'Lobo 77'
It's a funny game with cards.
You add to, or subtract from, a running total of the pile of cards by putting your card with a number (could be -10, 66, 9, 0....) when it's your turn and you mustn't have a total which is a multiple of 11, or taking the total over 77.
Another game, I like is called Shadows over Camelot, it's also a game with cards.
I like playing.... :)
So the game hinges on nobody opening their eyes during the night phase? ...this game would never work with my friends. And the werewolves know who each other are?
Yes, and that's why at first people were cheating! At the beginning of the game, we all know how many werewolves there are. And not only the werewolves can open their eyes during the night, there is also the little girl, so the werewolves know there is at least one person that they can not trust.
There are similar games here in the U.S., often called "Mafia" or "Killer." Having them be werewolves is a cool twist.
Yeah, I also know that game as "Mafia" here in Argentina.
We also play Werewolves in the U.S.

It's another variation of the hidden role game, in which the entire point of the game is guessing who is what.
One of my favorite variations of this is Shadow Hunters, and the Resistance card game is also very good.
There is a board game thread here, although it's not very active.
On New Year's day we had our fist game day of the year, and we played Lords of Vegas (very good), Strut (one of my all-time favorites), and some German bidding game that I'll never be able to spell.
This is the best.

LOL. That exists!!!!!!!!
That's amazing.
Yeah it's easier to play with sober people, drunk people can play it too if they first played it sober. But if you get a group that likes it, it tends to be a game you'll play over and over. When I played a variation of it in elementary school it was called Mafia, but Werewolves has so many more added cards and then there's a terrible online version called Epic Mafia which has some more good roles you can play with. Our group even made a couple up which are pretty good. Some of the best added cards:
Witch: After the werewolves have chosen someone to kill the witch opens her eyes and is given two powers that she can only use once each. First she can save the person from death and second she can poison someone. A game usually lasts about 4-5 nights depending on how many people there are so those powers can come in handy.
Hunter: When the hunter is killed the hunter with his last dying breath takes out his gun and kills someone else in the room.
Detective: Once each night they can see someone else's role of their choosing.
Little Girl: Little Girl can peak during the werewolves phase, if she is caught peeking by the werewolves she is immediately killed.
Defender: Defender can defend someone from any type of death during the night phase they can't choose the same person twice in a row, they may choose themselves.
Cupid: Cupid choose two people in the room who are in love. They become the lovers and as the lovers they are bound to each other and reveal to each other what they are. They die together and if they're the last two alive they win together. Their bond is stronger then the bond of werewolves.
Fool: (My favorite but can only be played with around 15+ people) During the lynching phase if the Fool dies by being voted out they win the game.
Old Biddy: (Created by our group) The Old Biddy is the gossip and she wants to find lovers. During her phase she can point at someone and I will announce if the Biddy has found a lover. If the biddy can find both lovers she can join them in a threesome.
The thing which is probably most important is you need a good moderator, if the moderator catches someone cheating they can do public shaming.
"Cupid" sounds cool. We always play with "Defender", only we call it "Doctor".
It appears the game was created as "Mafia" in the URSS in 1986. I didn't even imagine it was so widespread.
According to SocialMe, on Facebook:
- Daniel uses more words per sentence than 95% of people.
- Daniel uses fewer exclamation marks than 92% of people.
- Daniel uses longer words than 94% of people.
- Daniel uses words with more syllables than 94% of people.
- Daniel uses more advanced words than 91% of people.
What I've learned is that there are a lot of really stupid people on Facebook.
The three things I talk about most: Books, Music, Literature.
Also, another game that a friend of mine has and that we've planned to play for some time now is Junta. Haven't played it yet, but it sounds a good funny game.
Eric is more optimistic than 90% of people.
Eric is more of an achiever than 95% of people.
Eric uses longer words than 89% of people.
Eric uses words with more syllables than 85% of people.
Today in "Mara is too nice for her own good":
I am sick. I stayed home sick. However, I had an appointment with a particularly skittish woman today at 3 that should have taken half an hour, and since scheduling with her was a nightmare, I decided to come in just so we wouldn't be trying to reschedule for another three weeks.
Guys. This appointment took two and a half hours. I'm here 45 minutes after my regular work day would end, even if I wasn't sick. This lady was so paranoid that she was trembling the entire time and asking me every question under the sun. I stayed because I felt bad for her, but now I'm so blown I feel too tired to drive home.
America: Fuck yeh!

I know that sporting events are happening somewhere in the world if I can't find parking and my Facebook feed is full of references I don't understand.
