I totally need to vent because crappy day to the max. I was supposed to shoot my film this weekend, everything was planned out, I mean... like crazy organized. Then I am stupid enough to think I have to pick up my equipment at 5pm, when it's really noon. I lose my reservation, everything, then an actor bails out. I try to scramble for three hours, phoning everyone/everywhere to try and get camera and light set. Someone was nice enough to lend a camera, but in the end it wasn't worth trying to shoot this weekend because of the limited time and resources. Things are pushed back a week, and I embarassed myself by trying to contact everyone I know, looking like a complete ditz, including this one guy who is super talented who I've had to bail on TWICE already because of really unlucky circomstances. BAH!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I had to help this Native woman in my class give a presentation on Native Representation in Canadian Media.
She is INCREDIBLY gung-ho about native rights, and how they are neglected all the time - to the point where it gets a little ridiculous, because she'll turn everything around to make it seem like an injustice to Natives.
Anyways, she's giving this presentation, going on and on and how "her people" are misrepresented with racist stereotypes, yet she CONSTANTLY referred to them as "Indians".
I found that quite hilarious.
I walked into a clothing store tonight that smelled like pesticide. I thought I'd get used to it, but after a couple minutes, I swore it was getting worse.
I've been having my first experience with the medical world this last week. What was a seemingly innocuous pimple on my side for about a year suddenly erupted over the weekend into this large, incredibly painful red blob of...something. I go to emergency care and they diagnose it as a something-or-the-other abscess that they can't do anything about for several days, so come back in a few days and they'll lance it (luckily, antibiotics and pain killers were perscribed).
I got in last night and get cut open and drained and a tube stuck in so it keep draining. I essentially bled all night (thankfully my boyfriend was sweet enough to play nurse and change the bandages several times throughout the night).
I go in today and they remove the tube and so I have a gaping hole on my side. I go in tomorrow for god knows what.
On the plus side, I've learned I have a higher tolerance for pain than I expected (the nurse: "most people are kicking in pain by now") but I still can't stand the sight of blood--I literally almost passed out just looking for about ten seconds at my side in the mirror. Needless to say,I haven't looked at it since.
