We just changed his bandage (antibiotic cream, gauze, light gauze, wrap, and tape) with zero loss of human blood. And even better, he only spent a couple minutes under the bed pissed at us.

Damn. It seems that a poster over at RT called Carl the Critic has died, apparently a suicide. He even mentioned he felt bad in threads going back to 2006. And of course some, including at least one matchcutter, believed he was merely seeking attention. Which is also understandable. The victim was 22.
Yep I saw the thread, which was sad (and of course some fucking asshole douchebags decided to troll it...go figure).
Also Scar your kitty is very lucky. Very lucky indeed.
Hurray for dreamdead becoming a doctor. Awesome. Oh and Akira's depiction of nuclear devastation is pretty terrifying and rather shocking. However I haven't viewed too many movies that touch on that particular subject.
Brightside your dream post reminds me of how back in the FDT Wats gave Bary the meaning of one of his rather hilarious and random dreams. Good times.
Okay, I realize this is probably just me being crazy, but if you can't be crazy on the internet, what is it for?
I don't know if you guys are following the news story about the teen lesbian couple that were shot in a park in Portland, Texas. I've read a couple articles on it. I clicked on a link from msnbc.com that said police were putting up a sketch of a subject, and all of the sudden a thought popped into my head: Wouldn't it be nuts if it was Isaac?
Isaac is a completely insane, unstable person I knew when I was in college over a decade ago. He lived in Utah. I have no idea where the thought came from.
And here's what's nuts: the sketch totally looks like him. Also probably like a hundred other people. But now I can't get it out of my head.

I actually got curious enough that I tried to look Isaac up. The last I checked he had a karate dojo in Provo, with a website, but it doesn't look like it exists anymore. I even went so far as to try white pages under his name in Texas, but got no hits.
So... I should let this go, right? A sketch reminds me of someone I knew over a decade ago in a different state. It just got me all agitated for some reason.
Here. You guys can tell me I'm nuts.
Astonishingly, I found a picture of Isaac on the internet. (I figured with all that karate stuff, there had to be a picture somewhere.) I'm going to post it with the sketch picture, and you guys can tell me it's a coincidence.

I think you need to add more disclaimers to your posts. I came in here & read that second post first.
I thought you were talking about the Isaac that posts here and was totally confused.
Mara...that picture is similar enough where I'd wonder too, so you're not being weird.
That's creepy, actually.
Now I'm counting on Isaac to call you up and ask if he can just "hang out for a little while" until he gets some "affairs in order."
Well, it's been a while since I attempted to dive into the dating pool (for various reasons, most of which are appropriate for a shrink's office, not here), but I'm about to try again.
Full disclosure: Since moving to Tallahassee in 2002, I've had TWO dates, and one of those was a blind date with a girl...who ended up marrying a friend of mine and moving to North Carolina.
This new girl is a fellow gamer and she's pretty damn awesome. I met her a couple of years ago because we played D&D with the same DM, and then once the game kinda died out, I didn't see her for a while.
Found her at the local comic shop running weekly D&D games and joined up and man, I tell ya, she's even more amazing than I remember.
I have no idea how she feels about me at ALL so I'm firing blind.
I've been trying to ask her out for a few weeks but I couldn't get her by herself for even a couple of minutes - until yesterday.
I finally was able to walk up to her and say "Hey, Stacey..." and then completely FROZE UP. I had to make a quick excuse about how I'd forgotten what I was going to say to save a little face.
It bothered me all night. I drank and ate too much at the July 4th party and SURELY went over my calorie count for the day. This morning, I shot her a DM on Twitter and said that I needed to talk to her and asked if we could exchange phone numbers.
She sent me her number...so as soon as she's off work (she works at a radio station - no personal calls), I will be calling her and trying to ask her again.
At this point, whether she says yes or not is secondary. I've been this skittish, socially awkward penguin since middle school, and since I turn 40 next month, I really wanna shake it.
And...wow, that was long :) Sorry, guys. Anyway, I'll let you all know what happens.
Good luck Fez! You don't actually have to have confidence, just pretend that you do. No one can tell the difference. :)
Hey, remember wallet chains? I suddenly remembered wallet chains and was glad those weren't a thing anymore.
Hey, who needs a nice uplifting story for the day?

There is a guy on my bus who wears a black top hat, a black trench coat, Doc Martins, and a chain wallet.
He's straight out 1990s Hot Topic.
Anyone else in North America experiencing unspeakable heat right now?
It's weird, but you think SoCal would be steaming hot in July, but it's been around low 80's so far this Summer.
I fear for August and September.
Here in Chicagoland it's hit the 90s for 2-3 weeks straight. It's 99 degrees right now, and yesterday the crappy air conditioning in the apartment never got below the mid-80s until 2 or 3 in the morning.
Our move to central air conditioning cannot get here soon enough.
Yep, was 90-105 for about two weeks. Add that to the dry winter, and no wonder why Colorado had so many fires. Sad. It is suppose to be 75-80 till Wednesday. Yahoo.
Its 102F right now. Tonight's 40 degree drop might almost feel chilly.
Almost.
