Don't know much about their debut album, but a friend of mine told me their new album was the best radio-played album he had heard in a long, long time. I checked it out and yeah, it's pretty rad. Basically, this album is about 18 years too late to the Nirvana/Pixies party, but damn does it have some great tunes though it also has a couple mediocre modern alt. rock songs as well. Still, pretty cool to see a fairly mainstream group in 2011 producing music like this.

LCD Soundsystem's This Is Happening is getting more playing time than I expected given my indifference when I first listened to it. Tracks like home are so teeming with charm that it's impossible to resist.

I found the new deadmau5 extremely unimpressive. He's been in steady creative decline in the studio since Random Album Title despite all his fancy gadgets. The new release switches between being generic/more-of-the-same-old-shit to just plain grating in the case of the dubstep tracks at which point I turned it off.Quote:
