It's so they can say that they did.

My gf got to meet him first - stupid work.

Temps were no joke today. Over 100 and humidity through the roof. An hour of mowing, and an hour of weedeating, and I spent the rest of the day with a splitting headache and throwing up. Better now, but damn did I feel awful.
I hate this weather. I'm okay with 80 degree weather, and while I despise humidity if its not in the 90s or the 100s I can stand it. But this current heat wave is ridiculous.
Dogs on general principle are awesome. I like cats too, but I enjoy the company of dogs far more.
Yeah, heat index today is at 115.
Borders liquidations start today, my friends.
*Sigh*
Anybody know how to get rid of a cat that is otherwise healthy, except for the fact that it pees all over your house?
Call your local vet and explain what's going on, and let them know you have to get rid of the cat. My brother did this, and one of the vet's assistants took the cat in to see if the problem could be corrected. It was, and the cat is doing well, still living with the assistant.
Not sure if this is rare or not, but it's much better than just dropping it off at a shelter to be euthanized.
Believe me we've exhausted about every avenue. The cat has been to the vet several times to try and resolve the issue. We've bought more litter boxes and put them in different parts of the house. The cat's been on anti-biotics.
Currently we are shutting the cat in the boiler room at night where two of the litter boxes are so she has basically no place to pee but in the things. Still, she holds it in, and when we let her out to come eat and stuff, within an hour she will have peed in the dining room.
At this point the vet believes it's behavioral, and recommends we shut the thing in there for a month, letting her out only when we can keep an eye on her, so as to "re-train" her to use the litter boxes. But if that doesn't work, the thing's gonna have to go; I give up, and I can't live in a house that constantly smells of cat pee.
Wow. That's a rough situation, bac0n. I didn't mean to insinuate that you hadn't done your due diligence, if that's how my post came off. I had a cat similar to that when I first lived on my own after high school, but I had a friend whose parents had a farm, and so she took him there and he lived out his days as a barn cat.
Well, all the shelters in my area euthanize after three days, regardless of condition. I had to interview the head of the Humane Society a couple semesters ago for a communications course, and she said that so many cats are either living in a feral-like state or being dropped off at shelters that there's nothing else that can be done around Saginaw. The Humane Society is always at capacity, even when they get rid of one or two. They have a wait list established for those who want to get rid of their cats, but don't want them euthanized.
This series of photos of whale sharks on yahoo is cool:

For the record I do feel bad about being less than friendly with Sycophant, and do wish he'd come back.
Hey Davis (or anyone else), what did you do with your DVD cases and CD jewel cases when you transfered the discs into binders? I don't know if they're worth donating, or if I should just toss them in the garbage.
I put the binders on Craigslist, for free, and within about 2 hours I had a few people interested. Someone came over and picked them up.
The cardboard cases, and slip sleeves I sent to a person on Etsy who makes notebooks out of them.

Only threw away a tiny bit of stuff. Trying to upcycle as much as possible.
Reading twitter trending topics is like reading the comments on YouTube. Why do I do this to myself?

Ugh.
2 weeks ago signed a 3 year contract for my new cell phone, and it doesn't get any service at the new house.
There's also no high speed internet, so I don't know that my X-Box Live will work properly, and about 6 months ago I paid for a full year subscription.
I'm feeling a bit FML right now.
Gotta play Halo Wars before it disappears then!
Great news!
The ISP we're with has a data cap (which they call a "traffic management policy").
Basically they reserve the right to suspend service and/or charge additional fees if they feel you're using too much data.
Yay!
