I just found out I share a birthday with Sheri Appleby.
I am. D. B.
My real name is D.B. Cooper
In my first big challenge since my promotion, I was suddenly called and asked to come to the CEO's office to speak to her, the CFO, and a huge muckety-muck from the an affiliated government agency so important that I've never actually met him before, only heard rumors.
And I totally killed it. I had all the information at my fingertips and on my paperwork that they needed, and I was able to show a large rate of growth in the area of concern. Everyone looked very relieved and pleased, and shook my hand.
I'm a rock star.
Last week I had perhaps my third lucid dreaming experience ever. Pretty exciting, but it didn't last very long. I realized I was dreaming when I realized I was looking at the Amazon river from my apartment window. "HEY!! There's no river outside my apartment!!" Suddenly, I was lucid.
Yesterday I found an IamA post on Reddit from a lucid dreamer. I took it as a sign that I should persue this.
I've begun a journey to learn how to lucid dream. One of the major steps is keeping a dream journal and writing down your dreams as soon as you wake. My dream last night wasn't nearly as strange as some I've remembered, but it was ... funny ... ? I was on the literal train to Lucid Town, but the train driver was sick, so we never left the station. Heh.
That's interesting Spun. I'd imagine this sort of thing takes years to master.
Out of the women sports athletes that people claim are hot, how come no one ever talks about Hope Solo, who is actually hot?
Heh.
My my sake and also for the sake of the entire world, I hope there is only one.
Some folks know my real name thanks to Facebook. However, I think I've forgotten most of the actual names of the people I've added to Facebook over the years. I've never been good with names, though.
Well I am outta here. Got 2 days left to study so I might not be back on before Saturday, the day of my final. Then I am taking a week vacation and staying at the Cape.
So if all goes well I should be back on the 18th (unless the house I'm renting has the internet... in that case nothing will probably change). Take care everyone.
Enjoy your vacation, Duke.
I'm at my girlfriend's, in Novi Sad, Serbia. Got my VIP bracelet for the EXIT Music Festival today, and I'm prepared for four days of awesomeness: Arcade Fire, Pulp, Jamiroquai, Portishead, Nick Cave, Grinderman, Editors, M.I.A, House of Pain, Bad Religion, Santigold, Kreator, Beirut, Hadouken!...
I'm sitting in the sweltering heat and trying to fathom why people spend so much of the year yearning for days like this. They must enjoy sweaty crotch more than I do.
I like moderate heat on a day when I am just going to laze around, do some BBQ'ing, that sort of thing.
When it comes to work I prefer to be cool. I sweat a lot to begin with - add sweltering heat to that, and I can easily drink 4-5 litres of water in a work day and not go pee once.
I also MUCH prefer being all-out cold to sleep.
When you're cold you can always warm up with extra blankets, or putting PJ's on to sleep in.
If it's too hot, and you're already lying naked on top of your sheets, there's fuck-all you can to do cool off.
Yeah, but cars slip on ice. They don't do anything in sweltering heat except make you cranky.
Hot days are worth it for the warm nights. Warm nights are the best.
Because when you have sweltering heat, you fill up the kiddie pool and get people together for a beer and bikini party, obviously.
