Did you really expect that to go any differently? :)

A better question is should it go any differently? She's using him in the way women are emotional creatures, so now her can use her as men are physical creatures.

I am not stepping anywhere near this can of worms.
It doesn't even sound like she's using him for emotional purpose if all they do is talk about movies and plays and do platonic activities. Just say you dot want to hang out if you don't and treat it like a normal good friendship, man. That's all it sounds like for now, to me.
I know a girl like that, DAMU. Bag full of crazy, that one. Be careful.
Pursue the friend she wants you to get with, she'll get jealous and you'll end up together, if that's what you want.
Maybe a threesome with her and that other chick.
I have a particularly crazy friend who legitimately uses men, treating them as boyfriend but with no intention to be intimate with them. It's not just a regular friendship though, it's far more intense than what DAMU is describing. She will get legitimately jealous if he hangs out with other women, though she will be allowed to pursue any man she wants. She will phone him up at 2 or 3 in the morning to ask him to come over and help her do things like write essays or to rant about her life. He put up with this for a while until he had to start saying no because it was ridiculous and she made it clear that she did not want to pursue him in a sexual way, though she wanted all the perks of having someone cater to her needs. She was really angry when he started to tell her no. There was a point where she was accusing him of treating her terribly and stopped talking to him all together.
If I got called at 2 AM to help out on an essay, I'd be livid.
I know two older people with a similar relationship, but he puts up with to an insane degree. He's in his mid-forties and lost his wife after a very long fight with cancer. They never had children.
She is really weird and a hypochondriac. I think there may be some little thing legitimately wrong with her, but she exaggerates her problems into not being able to do anything, lift anything walk, etc. Which is ridiculous, because she's in good shape. She is fairly pretty and about forty.
She is a member of my church, and while my church is eager and willing to provide service and meals to people that need it, she has a bad habit of demanding full-time care. She insists people bring her dinner, and drive her around, and all sorts of crazy things.
Anyway, she got her hooks into this poor guy, and he is basically a husband to her-- but a husband who is a slave. She has three cats but claims she's too weak to care for them, so he goes over to feed them and change their litter box every day. He does all her yard work and cleans her house and drives her to all her appointments.
She goes insane if he has other plans or doesn't pay enough attention to her.
I don't know if he's in love with her or what, but she obviously has no itentions of having a romantic relationship with him. It pissed me off, because he is a genuinely good guy, and I half wanted to marry him and coddle him just to piss her off.
This one time her neighbor fumigated and the woman became convinced that the pesticides from next door were going to kill her, or something, so she started a lawsuit against the neighbor and sent an e-mail out to everyone in the congregation (including me) insisting that someone let her and her three cats live with them for six months until her house was "safe."
I mean... really?
Mara, it sounds to me like he loves her, and he's hoping that she'll grow attracted to him with time. I don't think that'll work.
