Trailer link (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/hitman/)

Word is the director, Xavier Gens, has been shut out of the project and Nicholas De Toth has been brought in to re-edit the film and direct reshoots. Sounds a bit like Helgeland's ordeal with Payback. At any rate, while I didn't hold any great expectations for the film, it looked prettier than it had any right to and I hate it when this sort of thing happens.

Twitch has (http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/olyphant-confirms-xavier-gens-bounced-from-hit-man/) the story.

I didn't read the Twitch story, but I read another article that was linked on RT and apparently Olyphant had been asking for him to be replaced from the get-go. He was happy to hear that he'd been fired and they were re-editing. He also said that the rumors about a PG-13 rating were false. He said the film would be 40 minutes long if they cut it to get that rating. We'll see I guess.

apparently Olyphant had been asking for him to be replaced from the get-go. He wasn't serious about that, just being cheeky.

Interesting. Seems you're right. I just read the whole thing on CHUD.

Interesting. Seems you're right. I just read the whole thing on CHUD.It said that at RT too, you probably just skimmed over the context of the quote. And he DID say that he wanted him fired because he didn't speak English.:P

It's getting an R rating. Gens is still the director, and De Toth is only a consultant.

The link posted at the start of the thread is newer than your link, which essentially is reiterating Fox's damage control.

I still think it'll be awesome.
