Does anyone dare admit they are seeing Sex and the City?
The Strangers is getting wildly mixed reviews but it sounds like it might be my cup of tea. NY Times, AV Club, and the extremely picky Slant Magazine peeps like it, plus the people who don't (Ebert) sound like they don't on moralistic reasons which often happens with horror/slasher movies. Some have discribed it as Funny Games minus all the postmodern browbeating, which is a good thing IMO.
The Foot Fist Way looks like it might be a good comedy.
Stuck sounds like it could be a good dark comedy, plus I remember reading about that case and thinking it was a pretty rediculous story. Might make a good flick.
Thoughts?

My wife wants to see The Strangers, so I'm sure I'll see it at some point soon, but it won't be this weekend. I don't have much interest in the others.

Wow...you married the right woman if she wants to see The Strangers over Sex and the City. :)

Most of the guys here are either single or married. The single ones get away with seeing it, and the married ones don't have to work hard enough to please the wives, so a simple, "Nah" will work in their favor.
But a guy like Rowland is most likely seeing it. Meg as well if jennifer is around.

it's not like i'm craving to witness the fab four on big screen, but due to having a lot of female friends, i expect myself to eventually watch it in theatre.

Sure it can. Guys with girlfriends that are forced to see it because they still have the upper hand. :)
That would take in a large amount of people in 16-30 range.

Nah, some guys are in purgatory. I slipped past the guards while they were sleeping and made it to Hell about 19 years ago.

I still can't figure out why Sex and the City is on two screens at both of the theaters near me.

I'll either be seeing The Strangers tonight or tomorrow night. Thankfully my GF wants to see it too, so we're all set.

None of these are out in Belgium, but Stuart Gordon's "Fortress" was actually an accomplished little B movie.

I have half a notion to get shnockered, go alone, and make a scene.

Another option: the married ones have sensible wives of discriminating taste.
On a similar note, Kristen has said that she will not go see Mother of Tears with me.

Bumping this as I'm curious as to people's plans over SDCC weekend--
Hercules is out in the theaters, Blue Ruin and Dom Hemingway are out on DVD.
I'm going to rent Broken Circle Breakdown and maybe finish watching The Exorcist III.
Now you...

Waiting until next Friday before I see
Guardians of the FREAKIN GALAXY
Broken Circle Breakdown
Good movie.
There's a slight chance we'll go see Begin Again. If not, then maybe The Immigrant on Netflix and a handful of older films.

My dad and I are going to see Lucy on Sunday, since A Most Wanted Man didn't come to our area.

5+ years later and The Strangers and Stuck are still pretty great movies.

Hanging out with friends tonight who tend to watch a lot of Hong Kong martial arts films and spaghetti westerns. So, there's a good chance I'll be watching something of that ilk.
