Purchase the Flying Circus set. It's the right thing to do. If you already own it, buy a second one and send it to me.

I pretty much sold every DVD I owned last year when I moved. With the advent of Netflix and just being able to download anything off the internet, I don't see a reason on spending $20+ on DVD's anymore.

For your purposes though, I see you've just watched Fanny and Alexander, so how about the Scenes from a Marriage box. It's pretty amazing too, plus it has the benefit of being immediately watchable since you probably haven't just seen it recently/at all.

Killer of Sheep

It has the feature, two versions of My Brother's Wedding and four shorts, including what may be his best work, 1995's When it Rains.

the thing is though, i saw the theatrical version of F&A, and netflix doesn't have the TV version for some reason.

Or if you don't like science, the Bergman trilogy of faith set is exceptional.

So many great Criterion disks.

Also I've heard that new Nosferatu disk pretty good.

Aye, that's a good one.

Excluding box sets, I think this one would be my favorite, for the combined quality of the film and extras:

to answer my own question. i'm quite fond of my Dazed and Confused and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas criterions. the supplements are great and the films are endlessly rewatchable.

Best DVD I own is Dawn of the Dead - Ultimate Edition.

The Pulp Fiction one and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly are also up there.

This statement is only 1/3rd correct.

Well, all three are at least interesting and you get 'Ingmar Bergman Makes a Movie' as an extra.

Maybe if you owned more good movies, you wouldn't feel this way.

This is the most satisfied I've ever been (aka most bang for my buck). Great packaging, great bonus stuff, great movie.

Other than that, my favorite DVDs are Berlin Alexanderplatz (Criterion), By Brakhage, and the two Kenneth Anger volumes.

The Pulp Fiction one and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly are also up there.I own those two, plus the OUATITW SE two disc and the SE two disc of True Romance as well. Plus the two disc 10 and 15 anniversery DVD's for Reservoir Dogs. I couldn't resist buying the 15th ann one because its shaped like an oil can. There's some additional features on that one.

I have the OUATITW SE but not those other two. I also thought the oil can DVD was incredibly awesome.

I'd buy Jackie Brown SE before those two, though, although I don't know if it carries any cool extras. Guess it does.

Honestly I'm dying to simply revisit Jackie Brown, period as the last time I saw it was in 2004. I remember it being a really entertaining, well made film that is one of QT's best.

Yeah, I always thought QT's best film was a toss up between Reservoir Dogs and Jackie Brown. I mean, Pulp Fiction is incredibly iconic, but I like the characters in those other two better.
