Cassandra's Dream, surprisingly, isn't awful. A bit on the bland side, but still competent and moderately engaging.

Where is the love for 'The Thief of Bagdad'? I guess after the treatment Cocteau's 'La Belle et La Bette' received in the top french film topic I shouldn't be surprised.

Where is the love for 'The Thief of Bagdad'?Bought it last week (stocked early by a local store, apparently). Absolutely superb Criterion treatment, can't wait to dig in to the Scorcese/Coppola commentaries (recorded separately, rats!). I've watched just enough to see that it's a stunning transfer, tho the the colors of this much-ballyhooed Technicolor release are not quite as eye-poppingly gorgeous as the previous OOP MGM transfer (which was almost unreal). Still, it's a more than worthy package and well worth the SRP.
