Had a discussion with someone and so I'm curious, which one do you think of when you hear the word Sandal? Cause apparently according to them, I'm in the minority of all people ever.

I think of the first one, but I only wear these:

When I hear the word "sandals", I think of something more along the lines of the second picture.

But I prefer to wear something more along the lines of the first picture, sans the fur.

'Flip flops' and 'sandals' are sort of interchangeable to me so I guess the 1st picture.

I don't really see too many of the 2nd kind around at all.

I'm with Scar. My Keens are the most comfortable pair of footwear I own.

Flip-flops drive me nuts. I can't stand the feeling of the plastic wedged between my toes and how I have to walk a certain way to keep them from falling off.

If I'm not wearing my Keens, I'm wearing these:

Certainly the second picture. The first picture depicts items I still think of as "thongs."

I know where you're coming from as I can't stand wearing cheap $2 flip-flops from Old Navy or Walmart, but if you dish out $20 you can get a really comfortable pair with fabric in-between your toes instead that are actually shaped to fit your foot.

I think of the former, but I'm not a big sandal fan. I figure anything that is informal enough to do in sandals, I can do more comfortably barefoot.

I never wear sandals. Ever.

Oh this is doing nicely. I got into an argument over sandals, and so far on every forum, my side is winning.

I can't explain my complete aversion to sandals, but I really hate the way they look on both men and women. I love flip-flops, but I think most full sandals look goofy on people. It's probably because I've never fully covered from widespread atrocity committed upon many a child's feet in the 80s and 90s by jelly sandals.

I too never, ever wear sandals. I prefer shoes, socks, or going barefoot instead. Mostly shoes-I like me a good pair of sneakers.
