Jessie Buckley is good, but the flashback sequences of her as young Leda could have been much, much briefer. They feel "illustrating" too much when the film's meat and particular appeal lie in the present-day scenes, in how mysterious and unsettling the watchful eyes of Olivia Colman's Leda keep to a woman possibly parallel to her past. Dakota Johnson is at her career best here as the latter, while Colman is effortless in nailing a difficult balance of maintaining a character whose reactions and decisions are somehow both logically difficult but emotionally true at once. 7/10

Dakota's best role since A Bigger Splash.

I can agree with the above on that some of Buckley's scenes could've probably been shortened as Colman's excellent acting almost fills in the scenes for us.

This is a movie that I could probably talk about certain characters, motivations, and subplots for a long while after the movie.
