So after marinating it a bit more... yeah, this was incredible. Not only does it look every bit as gorgeous as the previous VE works (if not more), but it could easily go toe to toe with Ghibli. And all paired with a film that pairs it's three subplots far better than the previous film (http://matchcut.artboiled.com/showthread.php?7796-Violet-Evergarden-%96-Eternity-and-the-Auto-Memory-Doll-(Haruka-Fujita)), ties the loose ends really well and has an ending that hits like a hammer. Fuck, what a film.
