Feels like the film has two tones at war with each other here, in which the farcical delights of a great Michelle Pfeiffer blasely barreling her way through the end of her wealth keeps being dragged down by half-hearted stabs at profundity. I can sort of see its aim in being an absurd comedy surrounded by melancholy at the story's edges, but I find Azazel Jacobs often misjudging the calibration and thus ballooning the running time of a supposed farce to two hours. At least Pfeiffer and scene-stealing Valerie Mahaffey hold this together almost enough. 6/10
