It feels a lot like an American production to the point that if anyone had slapped an English dub and a Dreamworks logo, I wouldn't have, like, done a double take or anything. It has some very nice animation (which is noteworthy since it was made by a studio I had never, ever heard off), fun action scenes, humor which is a bit crude and irreverent (sometimes a bit too much) and while it does rely often on Chinese mythology, it's not an overwhelming aspect and it relies more than anything on likable characters.

It's a fun (if a bit disposable) ride that sometimes tends to be a bit predictable in it's plot machinations and despite it's epic scope, it doesn't take itself that seriously. I could've seen it being widely released in Western theaters in the summer and doing well.
