I'm getting kind of tired of the "movie about current events" filmmaking style that somehow started aping the Scorsese of Wolf of Wall Street and was then brought to a new level by Adam McKay and now it's everywhere. In my ever-so-humble opinion it's insincere and it will not age gracefully. This movie has an amazing cast, one that does its very best and one that I would love to see reunited in a worthier project.

Liberal PureFlix. Can't really improve on Alison Willmore's (https://www.vulture.com/2019/12/movie-review-bombshell-with-charlize-theron-nicole-kidman.html) "The Handmaid’s Tale by way of only the Aunts and Wives", and the failure of the film is that it presents a narrow, non-systematic view, as if it's earnestly and mostly only about the handmaids, which makes the whole thing feel utterly hollow and toothless by the end. Three committed, involving performances, providing coherence and nuance where the script barely give the audience any, makes it better than Vice at least. 5/10
