Too many logical leaps but it sustains its feeble premise for the longest time. Like many thrillers these days, In the Tall Grass didn't really need to be two hours long but it packs enough intrigue to see it all the way through, although some scenes of Patrick Wilson pre turning into a villain are more than a bit reiterative.

Anyway, it all depends on your expectations, and they certainly shouldn't be all that high for this one, but Vincenzo Natali is at least coherent with the themes and style he has been working with since Cube.
