Because I need another online distraction:

GETTING TO KNOW YOU, SERIES 1, EPISODE 1

Which do you prefer, and because I really am interested in your thoughts, I'd like for you, if you want, to express why it is you prefer that one.

As for me, I'm totally a button fly man. I used to find it oppressive (and added an unnecessary hitch at the urinal), but ultimately, I find them classier and more fun to do up and undo. Plus, there's a significant reduction in unpleasant snagging.

I hate button flys. The buttons invariably fall off for me. I'll only go with the zippers now.

I have gone 29 years without a zipper-related genitalia injury, so I'm feeling good about my odds for future zipper fly usage.

I cannot say that I've ever had that experience. That would be quite unfortunate. And now that you've mentioned it, I'm sure it's going to happen to me now.

Obligatory joke about the diminutive size of your genitals when compared to the larger, and thereby more difficult to maneuver, size of my own.

Button Fly, because if the top buttons breaks, you've got 3-4 more backing you up against total crotchal exposure, whereas the zipper will just slide down if/when the top button breaks loose.

Heh, nice. I'd say anyone who actually damages their junk in their zipper is just being careless and that's one area where carelessness is never acceptable. So unless you're some sort of simpleton, the button fly serves no purpose.

Button Fly, because if the top buttons breaks, you've got 3-4 more backing you up against total crotchal exposure, whereas the zipper will just slide down if/when the top button breaks loose.I have had far more buttons fall off my jeans than I have had zippers break. In fact, I've never had pants zippers break.

By the way, zippers all the way. Though that has gotta at least be in part because I've never tried a button pair.

Looking forward to more of these!

I just don't have the patience to button all of those buttons.

Zipper, but last time I had a button fly was years ago... it broke fairly quickly. Still, I break my zippers all the time. I'm so rough on my clothing :(

this poll is ridiculous. the answer is so blatantly obvious. are you amish? no? use a zipper.

I so dig the button fly. When a woman is undoing your pants, it is much sexier for them to pull the jeans apart and have those buttons go popping out in one swoop than to have them "rrrrp" down a zipper.

Button flies seem to be pretty fashionable these days, but I find the likelihood of finding yourself in public with an open fly increases tenfold with them. I guess it depends on where you place your priorities.

I have no preference. Buttons aren't that bad because you don't really have to undo them all to take the jeans off.

A zipper is pretty much the jean equivalent of velcro shoelaces. If you're not 6 years old, you should probably stay away.

Buttons rule.

Zipper. It's all about convenience, and easy access. Buttons are a hindrance.

In that case, people who zip their jeans are statistically more likely to use Axe body spray. Look it up.

And the people that use button-fly smell like shiza.

You might be on to something!

If I start adding smileys to every post I make, won't I be mistaken for a 13 year old girl?   :)

Also, back on track, buttons still rule. fyi.

How do you detect sarcasm in books or magazine articles? They don't use smilies.

Being as how I haven't worn jeans in years and I tend to go with pants that don't need either, I wanted to vote for neither but instead I voted no preference.
