Oh yeah, BTW, I've been watching a few animated shows lately:


Infinity Train: Book 2 - Cracked Reflection: Now focusing in a one-episode character from Book 1 (yeah, they go by book) and a new passenger, IT continues to show a very smooth and quick narrative, A LOT of pathos and boundless imagination alongside themes of alienation, search of identity and growing up. At the same time, this book manages to add a lot of world building and introduce several future potential antagoinsts. Just like in Book 1, Ashley Johnson gives a very emotional performance here. People need to watch this show more.
It also has a shapeshifting deer named Alan Dracula. Can't beat that.


Big Mouth, S3: Kinda... same old, same old? There's still some depth in this show and the premise still gives room for a lot of very original material, however all of this feels like it's drowning more and more into a humor that most of the time wasn't landing as much as I hoped and in several occasions feeling lazy and fillerish (there's an episode where there's a subplot of a WWI of living penises that literally goes nowhere and breaks the narrative of an otherwise really good episode). This show is still overall good, but I don't see how so many critics put it among the best animated shows today.


Seis Manos: Mix some old school martial art shows, Mexican folklore, Blaxplotaition (the show even has the cigarette burns and a quasi-low budget look reminiscent of grindhouse films), anime and lots if violence and you have Seis Manos. It's fun as shit, has some really good action (wouldn't be surprised if the creators took a few cues from Avatar:TLA and LOK), knows when to subvert a trope and even manages to have some emotion there.


Log Horizon, S1: I'm ambivalent about how much it relies on exposition at times and I don't find Shiroe super interesting, but I can dig the worldbuilding, the humor and the visuals. I will never tire out of Henrietta forcing Akatsuki to dress up.
