Pretty rad documentary about a couple of punk girls growing up in Singapore who fall hopelessly in love with cinema, try to make their own movie, but then have their dreams crushed and stolen by a "friend" whose sudden disappearing act has ramifications that ripple through Singapore's cultural history. It's energetic and entertaining, personal and political, and gets surprisingly emotional near the end as it observes the passage of time, painting a portrait of subjects literally haunted by the images of a (nonexistent) movie.

It's on Netflix and I urge you all to check it out.

Agreed! The footage that survives of their movie is gorgeous and gosh what a shame that this is all we'll get of it.

The bit at the end where she's reminiscing and says something about, "I'll never have all my friends in the same place again" is so touching.
