I think Timo is more successful with action than horror so far. His visual sensibilities lend themselves well to the chaos and carnage of stuff like Headshot and The Night Comes for Us, while it's more inconsistently applied with horror, sometimes rendering the frightening patently absurd. I still enjoyed this for its gonzo sensibilities, there's a bunch of whacky voodoo stuff near the end for no good reason but it's all hilarious. It's a bare minimum sort of horror, though. Lots of clichés, not a lot of interesting ideas. I voted yay, but could just as easily go with a nay.

I think Timo's destiny is to make an action-horror hybrid, a wacky 80's HK throwback in the vein of something like Tsui Hark's We're Going to Eat You. He's gonna knock that out of the park.
