I haven't seen Amores perros since early 2002 so my rating for that one may be a bit inflated. Come to think of it, my ratings for Babel, Biutiful, and The Revenant are probably a bit high as well. All of his movies are full of shit to varying degrees but I generally find them entertaining enough for their razzle-dazzle technique to tolerate the heaps of bullshit that he keeps flinging at the screen.

Whoa, surprised at these. Out of all of his 'abject misery' films, I find 21 Grams to be by far the most watchable.

Out of all of his 'abject misery' films, I find 21 Grams to be by far the most watchable.To be fair, I haven't seen it since its theatrical release, so theoretically it could be less awful than I'm remembering it as. Also, since I liked Amores perros quite a bit at the time, my expectations for 21 Grams were considerably higher than they have been for anything he's done since, which may account for the relatively generous ratings I've given to all of his subsequent films.

I have only seen Birdman and The Revenant. I love Birdman, and while I thought The Revenant was great most of it is just "How many ways can Leo die in a movie?"
