This is a difficult selection since I think that Memento mainstreamed a lot of narrative elements that became semi-staples in psychological thrillers afterwards, but I find myself returning to Wright's rendition of Austen more, largely because of its visual aesthetics and airy approach to fidelity.

Erm, I've only seen the Australian cut of Dogville, which inexplicably has 1/2 hour missing... I can't really vote for it. I assume it was to make the film more accessible to the Kidman fanbase. Our film culture is soooo unbelievably lame.

That said, I found myself strangely unmoved by the trimmed version... didn't inspire any sort of intense feelings either way; it was more interesting to read the endless criticism for it than watch. I'm holding judgement, though.
