I saw this today and thought of Matchcut (especially Skitch): Two guys made a 58 second tribute to "Akira." It's kinda remarkable.

I think it'll interest anyone who makes films or wants to make films. If you go over to the project website (http://www.awakenakira.com/), and look under "Process," there's detailed videos on how they did each shot.

Yeh this is pretty great. Akira is in my top 20 all time list. It's basically perfect and this brought back weird feelings of seeing it for the first time.
