This post is in no way sarcastic or in jest.

I used to bathe exclusively with Axe shower gel, but for some reason I stopped for a while. I've just recently started using it again and I now remember how wonderful it is. I do not know what it is they put in there, but those silly sexist commercials they do aren't exactly lies. I can attest that they actually have truth in them.

My wife adores the way I smell and several other women have told me before that the smell inexplicably makes them feel clingy. This shit is some serious chick magnet. It works even better than alcohol.

So, makers of Axe shower gel, you are cool in my book.

P.S. Your bottle design makes my bathroom look snazzier.

I got a bottle of this stuff two Christmas's ago... I think it's still in my dresser. I'll try some tomorrow when I shower. I don't think it'd go bad or anything.

What is it, like, shampoo?

I think I'll try this stuff. Used to use the body spray a lot, but it didn't seem so effective as a deodorant after a while. I guess the reason why I've never tried shower is that I don't know exactly what they're, like, for.

...They don't replace soap, do they?

They're liquid soap. You lather your body in it, then rinse.

Shower gel >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> soap

I need to try Axe.

The best I've ever used was one of these> http://www.spotlessgroup.co.uk/item.php?ref_item=19

The one in the black bottle, with mineral supplements... I swear, the most refreshing showers I ever had. A really nice smell, too.

Yes.

And look how Axe designs their bottles with a grip pad. You can never drop it!

Do the ingredients in AXE products really attract women? (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_the_ingredients_in_AXE_prod ucts_really_attract_women)

I don't like gel soaps; it always feels as though I'm wasting soap.

I used Axe for a while too, I switch to Old Spice because of the commericals with Bruce Campbell.

Of course. You wouldn't want men all over you, would you? Axe repels dudes.

This is like the 2000s equivalent of kids throwing on Drakkar and Coolwater.

Buy some decent cologne if you want to smell good. This stuff is shit.

I can't speak for Axe, but a good shower gel vastly improves the shower experience and can do wonders for one's overall feeling of freshness. Cologne... covers up.

Cologne and body sprays are disgusting. Like ETM said, they just "apply" smells to you.

Shower gels, y'know, actually make you emit the smell.

Scar

I use the old spice stuff. Once in awhile I'll apply one small spritz of Aqua DiGio.

Shower gels, y'know, actually make you emit the smell. It's the smell itself that the problem, not how it's applied. Axe is marketed towards 16 year old boys, women know this and women generally don't want their guy or the guy hitting on them to smell like a bus load of adolescents. At least that's how I understand it.

Maybe my bar/singles scene is infinitely more shallow than the rest of the planets, which is certainly possible.

I agree with this. Which is why I switched to Old Spice... puts hair on your chest.

Yes, but my balls already taste like strawberry shortcake. I'm worried this might throw off the balance I've been working so hard to achieve.

You sir are in dire need of Axe's a la mode series of ball sack cleansers. The French Vanilla might be nice if your ladyfriend has a sweet tooth.

Well, I have been using Axe's brain wash for a few years now, so I've learned what it takes to bring the sexy.

I don't use scented soaps or colognes.

I naturally smell really, really good.

Me > you.

Naturally, yes.

But a lot come with added scents to be fruity or whatever - often containing alcohol.

I use a honey-almond facial scrub, and cologne with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your skin out and makes you look older.

Please tell me someone got that.

Not intially

But I will get you drunk. Then when we go back to my place and I start lecturing you on 80s pop music, you might want to think about leaving before I decide to redecorate the place with your brains.

cologne > 4.3

It's not disgusting. It's just really sad.

Explain how the application of scented oils in a ethanol base is any 'sadder' than application in liquid soap form.

Cologne of any sort is disgusting. If I'm around a man wearing any at all, I try to stop breathing.

Again, me = awesome.

I don't wear cologne. I wash with bar soap, and smell delicious.

I think my smell is pretty much the only thing I like about myself - used to be my hair, as well, but now I'm nearly bald. Wonderful.

I just tried using Axe shower gel again, and the results were mediocre.

For the price, it really doesn't make sense for me to use it - I'm such a big guy, with such huge pipes and chest width, that it takes like half a bottle just to develop any kind of lather on my upper body.

And I really don't find there's a smell difference at all.

Bar soap for me, all the way.

Irish Spring, to be precise.

It's not the size of the pipe. It's the plumbing.
