I typically don't go for movies where characters are so completely unaware, but this one does work for me.

I feel like nobody's seen it yet, so I'll keep the spoilers minimal for now.

Effectively Creepy, extremely well done atmosphere. Some shots that use sound for especially creepy benefit... Biggest one involves a crawl and an attempt at a scream. That might be the scariest shot of the year.

It works.

Oh, and shorter than the finale of Westworld. 1 hour 20 minutes I think.

I like its construction and the way it explores trauma so gruesomely, but the performances didn't work for me. Her weirdness feels too performative, and since I think the movie really hinges on selling her behavior to justify the horrors, all of it fell flat for me.

Yeah, this goes back to what I was saying with characters just feeling too unaware for it to work I think.

I'd be curious how she'd be able to convince someone to go home with her, for one. I feel like it would be the other way around.
