Easily the best film I've seen this year.

Proper good film.

Bloody awful hashtag.

Not as enamored with it as most people but it certainly packs a punch. The fact that the main actor is a comedian is a welcome relief with the more schmaltzy, manipulative moments.

Watching a Loach-Laverty film is for leftists what going to church is for Christians. It makes you feel warm and virtuous without actually doing anything. As far this sort of thing goes, it's about average.

2010s Palme d'or winners ranked:
1. Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives
2. The Tree of Life
3. Winter Sleep
4. I, Daniel Blake
5. Dheepan
6. Amour
7. Blue Is the Warmest Color

Looks fantastic. I...have never seen a Ken Loach film.

I've volunteered at a food-bank since January as a result of seeing this movie.
