This has the distinction of being both one of the funniest movies of the year as well as the most difficult movie to describe this year, mainly because of its unique aesthetic that merges the surrealist anti-humor of Tim and Eric, the deadpan humor of Napoleon Dynamite, and the gross-out humor of any John Waters film. I personally enjoyed it for the absurdity of its coming-of-age story, and also how it takes tropes and character types of every recent quirky-for-the-sake-of-quirky Sundance hit, and parodies them by making them as unattractive as possible, complete with hilarious over-acting that makes the bad dialogue that much more hilarious. It also takes typical conventions of narrative storytelling and simplifies them to the point of amusement as well; an early use of foreshadowing reduced to an exchange of three lines of dialogue is the most prominent example. As funny of a film as it is bizarre, I haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since I saw it, and look forward to watching it again.

I need to see this asap.

Yes, you do. I can't be the only one. There needs to be someone I can say 'Bullshit Artist' to who gets the reference.

I voted "WTF" because I could never in good conscience recommend this to anyone --- or admit that I've seen it to anyone but Match Cut.

My favorite scene is the "potato" bit Russ quoted above. It's so fucking stupid but I couldn't stop giggling.

I read a review that criticized Michael St Michaels for shouting all of his lines, but that was another thing I found inexplicably hilarious.

PS: St Michaels played a cultist last year in a movie called "Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss By Passing Through the Gateway Chosen By the Holy Storsh" ... and Taika Waititi plays Storsh. I only found out about it through IMDb, but now I feel like I gotta see it.
