Yes, another boxing movie. Yes, it is well-acted, and I do like the positive message it brings. It also kind of brings the same things we've seen in many other boxing movies. Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller have great camaraderie in this though, so it is worth watching for that alone. It just feels too much like Rocky/The Fighter/Million Dollar Baby all scooped up together.

Mild yay. Nothing exceptional, but nothing really bad here, either. Standard sports movie, really. The only real interesting thing I found of note here is how the last match is against Roberto DurĂ¡n, who had his own boxing biopic, Hands of Stone, release only a couple months earlier. :p

I'm thinking Hollywood should give boxing a rest for a little bit. I'm sure there are some great table tennis stories out there.

Ha. ON a serious note, there's some truly cinematic stuff that can come from table tennis if they wanted that. I was amazed at how good the guys were in the Olympics.
