Really strong, engrossing picture of a man who really just can't get out of his own way. It's amazing the filmmakers got the access they did. Huma Abedin is fascinating to watch through all of this.

I saw this with a Q&A with the director, and it really is amazing because the filmmakers themselves didn't realize that they were going to get this kind of access to this story. Kriegman knew Weiner personally because he used to work in local politics, and they were set out to make a comeback-story documentary about the mayoral race that was probably gonna be borderline redemption puff piece. And then... Yeah.

The funny thing is that Kriegman said that when he took this film to a screening in France, the audience were confused as to why this was a scandal in the first place. During the Q&A, a dude got up and asked, "So... what did he do?"
