He is fascinating.

Which of his books do I start first?

Junky.

It's the only I've read, but it was quite good.

Yeah, I was thinking that'd be the way to go. That being his first book and all.

Naked Lunch has one of the most invigorating narratives i've ever read. It's very bizarre and sometimes very hard to follow, but it's incredibly interesting and fascinating seeing how he uses language. That's all I've read, though.

Let's see. I'd begin with Junkie, follow up with Queer and then get The Yage Letters, which are some of his most "straightfoward" (direct to the vein) works. Yet if you really want to start right on the insanity, by all means eat Naked Lunch (and if you like it, explore the Nova Express trilogy, but be warned that it'll demand your attention).

Bull Lee used to be one of my favourites. He's able to conjure a fictional world like no other sick person. His interviews are also most interesting.

I should really get around to reading Junky one of these days.

If you like Naked Lunch, I'd recommend Cities of the Red Night after it.

all I've read as well...and I agree his use of language and prose is amazing, but very difficult to follow.
