Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie.
Kazuya Nomura, 2015.

What did I like? Best action scenes I've seen in GITS so far? Best action scenes I've seen in GITS so far. Not only do they look great, but show Motoko and her team working at their best (and hey! more screentime for Paz, Saito and Borma!).

What didn't I like? More technobabble than ever, the plot is still as muddy as ever and the philosophy present in the other GITS simply isn't there.

Final thoughts: This movie essentially trades the philosophy of the previous GITS incarnations for more action. Unfortunately, that philosophy is what has always made GITS so fascinating, and even more, the existential loneliness and bleakness that made me love so much GITS:Innocence has been lost as well. Dat action, though! So... okay, I guess?
