Adorable.

Also makes for something of a nice companion piece to Scrooged, a nostalgic holiday favorite. It's not great, but it hit me right where it needed to. The last scene elevates the whole enterprise.

Oh, yes. No matter what I might count this as in terms of the medium it belongs to, all I know is I found it as inscrutably lovable and intangibly moving as anything I've seen this year.

The one-two punch of the Phoenix doing "Alone On Christmas Day" and then Schwartzman and Jones leading "I Saw the Light" (with Maya Rudolph doing "Baby Please Come Home" between them for good measure) was almost too much for me to bear.

It's a bafflingly beautiful and decidedly shabby little thing that if it weren't for Netflix I'm not sure would even exist, but I'm so glad it does for me to have watched multiple times this months and easily again in the years to come. If this does become an annual special like Murray and Glazer want it to, then I will be as happy as can be every damn year.

Watched half of it. Lots of eye rolls and no laughs. Snore.

I feel like you might've stopped right before every highlight I mentioned. Not to mention its "big finale"..
