I wish the band would have continued on in this vein. While I still enjoy some Skinny Puppy, and I really like a lot of The Legendary Pink Dots stuff, some of their music sounds far too dated now to listen to without chuckling a bit. Last Man to Fly, however, is totally timeless. Hyperform and The Running Man are two of the best album openers of all time.

It looks like they have a new album coming out this year.

So, Judgement Hour, by Tear Garden, is such an incredible song. It's one of those songs that has quickly become one of my favorites. The production is excellent, the beat is simply and groovy, and Edward Ka-Spel's vocals are brilliant.

Man Rowland, I'm really glad we talked about this band last night, it's nice to be listening to them again. Although, I am not thrilled with their newest album at all. It's really lacking in the melody department, something that Tear Garden usually excels at.

Haven't gotten into that one yet. I d/l'ed it a few years ago, gave it a few listens but decided it'd never really click with me and then deleted it. I'll give it another go sometime, but for now I think LP5 and EP7 (for the most part) are where they find the perfect balance between avant-garde beats and their unique brand of wistful, fragile melodocism.

"Pir" from EP7 might be my favorite track of theirs.

When I first listened to the album two years ago, this was actually one of my least favourite tracks. But more recently I've found myself going to listen to this every once in a while (maybe because my play-count for it is that much lower than some of the others). I'm definately excited because no matter what they make, the album will definately be something I love. I even find most of their B-Sides to have endless replay value. The new album is also the first work they've done with Brian Eno so that should be interesting right there (well, he played the organ in White Shadows, but aside from that). Hopefully it still comes out next summer because recently there have been rumours of a delay and such.

Fantastic song, easily my favourite from Hot Fuss and almost makes up for stuff like "Everything Will Be Alright".

Right now though, the reason I came into the thread was to say I'm listening to "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town" by them from their new Sawdust compilation album. It's pretty great for the type of CD it is even if some of the re-recordings of tracks I loved in the past like "Under The Gun" and "Move Away" aren't quite up to par with the original versions in my opinion. It also has "Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf" which completes the trilogy of the "Midnight Show" and "Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine" story.

I'm definately excited because no matter what they make, the album will definately be something I love. I even find most of their B-Sides to have endless replay value. The new album is also the first work they've done with Brian Eno so that should be interesting right there (well, he played the organ in White Shadows, but aside from that). Hopefully it still comes out next summer because recently there have been rumours of a delay and such.I can't wait.

It also has "Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf" which completes the trilogy of the "Midnight Show" and "Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine" story.Whoa, I didn't know that existed. That sounds kind of cool. And isn't the trilogy of "Midnight Show" and "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" basically the murder trilogy? "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf" sounds like a cool song title. If anything else that sounds like an interesting concept album.

Yeah I'm pretty sure those three are as far as the murder story goes, the Sawdust B-Sides CD that has "Leave The Bourbon..." is out tomorrow though.

Not really, but I've been to the doctor many times for knee problems, if that counts. Also, I consider myself a good housekeeper, but my voice does not sound like Katherine Hepburn's. Perhaps the real Torgo and I are not quite the same. Maybe someday, that will change.

Pressed in a Book-The Shins. Part of their usual brand of music that sounds cheerful on the outside by is actually depressing on the inside. O Inverted World is really good in some aspects and weak in other ways. It pales in comparrison to their last two albums.

3's and 7's - Queens of the Stone Age

This is a song that could have easily been a hit if the record company didn't screw up its release as bad as they have. It's such a great rock song/single that if it were the first single and they actually gave it time to breathe and not made it the second one so long after and then moved on to Make It Wit Chu so fast, more people could have appreciated its awesomeness. It was released as the first single in the UK and actually made it into the #1 spot on the Rock charts and into the top 20 overall. Oh well, at least it's in Guitar Hero III.

Flashing Lights (feat. Dwele) - Kanye West

Still my favourite off of Graduation and maybe my favourite song of the whole year. The production is absolutely flawless and in my opinion it has some of West's better lines from the album .

Nice. I was really surprised by it after being pretty much nothing but annoyed by all the other stuff I heard by her. It was nice actually hearing something resembling a pleasing melody and flow with lyrics that I not only could understand, but appreciate. The production is also a lot less cluttered.

I like both albums about the same, with a slight preference for Between which I thought was a bit more consistent, sans "Seed" which drags down the middle of the album. At the hour mark, and it's awesome again.
