Please note: I personally have no plans to count ballots at this time. I just like to see other people's ballots, and I wanted to post my own. I don't know if we will award the Matchies this year.

Giving this a bump.
Maybe some more folks will want to add/edit their ballots? I volunteer to tabulate and post results.
We can keep this open as long as people want. I'm curious to see the results, and maybe more of us will be interested in participating having had roughly 6 months longer than usual to see more movies and be somewhat removed from hype and awards season fervor. Come on y'all, the Matchies are by far the most important arbiter of taste in the film industry.

Any more of these? Looks like we have 10.5 ballots (including baby doll's typically nonconformist weirdo ballot as the .5), which would likely lend itself to a good set of nominees. Of course, more would be even better! Let's say we have until Sunday to submit new or edit old and then I'll do the tallying.

Incidentally, I'm surprised there isn't more of a blacklash against Birdman. It seems like exactly the sort of entertaining middlebrow movie that everybody should hate for its de-balling of techniques shamelessly pilfered from difficult filmmakers like Godard and Tarkovsky, clichéd characterizations (show biz types make bad dads? Who'd a thunk it?), and Network-esque middle-aged white man whining about the kids these days and their funny books / blatant misogyny (yes, I'm talking about the theatre critic lady, who isn't remotely credible as a character).

The little comedic tone helps me (and I assume others) enjoy it somewhat. If it has taken to the somber seriousness of his previous works, this material might potentially be unbearable.

I agree with this. That's why I can't completely get on board with the contrarian belief that Clouds of Sils Maria is the better version of Birdman when it felt even more self-serious and even more haute bourgeoisie.

I'm gonna try and tally these tonight. If you've got changes to make or if there's anyone who hasn't put in a ballot yet, please put one in.
Couple of notes: Mommy, Timbuktu, and Predestination are USA 2015 releases and will not be counted. If you have them on your ballot, you might want to replace them with a different film so you're not wasting a vote. Thanks!
Predestination released 2014 in USA. :/
On rottentomatoes it said Jan 9 2015 limited, which corresponds with the reviews from both AV Club and Dissolve going up a day before that. (For shortcut of release date info, sometimes I just googled when their reviews of a film are posted)

IMDb has the same Jan. 9 date. Talking about theatrical release, not a festival.

Alrighty, please no more edits to existing ballots, I'm going to start counting. If you haven't submitted a ballot yet, you still have some time.
