Listened to the first few albums a lot in college, so I kind of have a fondness for them. Especially Downward Spiral. Looking forward to hearing what he's been up to since.

Besides knowing a couple songs through out high school my first real intro was with year zero which I dug immensely. Since then I've slowly but surely gone through all his stuff.

7 out of 10 of my friends looked liked this in high school:

long, straight black hair, worn in a high pony tail, with the sides shaved. Black finger nail polish. Black Dickies. Black Docs. NIN shirt.

I was the weirdo skater listening to The Bunnymen, The Smiths, and Camper Van Beethoven who never wore black. :)

The Fragile contains my favorite music of his by far, but the second disc is kind of a stinker. The Downward Spiral and Year Zero are most successful overall. The last four songs of With Teeth, maybe the best uninterrupted run of his music ever.

You are the first person I've found who agrees that The Fragile is his best music. "Even Deeper," "The Day the World Went Away," "The Wretched," "We're in This Together," "The Fragile," etc. Such a great album. I think the second disc is a noticeable step down, but I wouldn't come close to calling it a stinker. I'm going to wait to vote until I've caught up with a couple of his newer albums.

Admittedly, the one-two punch of "Please" and "Starfuckers" is awful.

The Fragile - 7 (always loved "La Mer" and "The Big Come Down, "and the music on that album is astounding. Lyrically, though, meh. Whole songs are hindered by middling lyrics. It was a great live show in Columbus for this tour, though.)

'The Fragile' is a strange album for me because I always associate it with the last gasp of 90s alt-rock bands I was into in high school before I started listening to a lot more indie rock. I should listen to it again since I've really loved Reznor's soundtrack work as of late.
