Jack O'Connell is a star in the making. He was in my Telluride surprise of 2013, and here he is again in 2014 as a soldier that gets separated from his team after a riot in Belfast. The entire movie is his attempt to retreat home, and the rioters in Belfast trying to ensure that this does not happen.

The movie doesn't have any other intentions on its mind, which works here. It takes a scary situation and makes it into an incredibly tense 100 minutes. O'Connell is in nearly every frame of the movie, and makes this more nerve-racking than any Marvel movie. Seek it out.
