View Full Version : Cutties Ballot Threat EXTENDED DEADLINE JUNE 29TH

Mara
06-08-2014, 06:05 PM
Ballots are due JUNE 29TH. Nothing will be considered final until the deadline, so feel free to toss around thoughts and lobby and edit and re-edit.

As before, you do not need to vote in every category, and you do not have to have seen every show to vote.

Please only vote in a category if you have three nominees, and limit yourselves to five maximum. Please read the notes below the list! I'm separating the notes so you can copy and paste the categories.

NOTES

*"Guest star" is someone who is in 1-3 episodes.

*We have decided that the "Best Episode" can be any episode that aired from June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2014, even if that season itself is not eligible. This is to honor episodes that otherwise would be ignored. Feel free to raise flags on episodes you don't think people should overlook.

*Please, so important: when putting an episode on your ballot, put it like this:

Show, "Episode Title"

You'd be amazed how much trouble that would save. Also, please don't abbreviate show titles (GOT, P&R, etc.) because it causes problems with my spreadsheet.

*For best episode categories only, you can have up to ten nominees.

*For "Cancelled Too Soon" only you can have a minimum of one nominee, and up to five.

*I still haven't figured out how to fit "Cosmos" into any category. It can get a special category to itself if you want.

And, for convenience, here is a list of eligible seasons and shows:

Even when I change the dates, I get the dates wrong. Fixed. (I think.)

Not sure if we discussed this before but wouldn't The Jeselnik Offensive and Drunk History belong in Sketch/Variety more than Talk Show?

And I noticed there is a category for reality but there are no reality shows listed under your list of eligible shows.

And I noticed there is a category for reality but there are no reality shows listed under your list of eligible shows.

The way reality shows are structured make it really hard for me to determine if they are eligible or not, because of the way they split seasons (or duplicate them!) and Wikipedia hardly ever helps me out by putting out seasons and dates, especially for long-running shows like Survivor. If people want to throw out a list of shows that qualify, I can add them to the nomination list. Here is what got voted in last year:

An Idiot Abroad
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
Nathan For You
Survivor
The Amazing Race

I would consider Peter Dinklage a Lead not a supporting actor. He's the first person in the credits. It's a hard show to differentiate though. I would consider Headley, Dinklage, and Clarke as the lead actors.

Kiernan Shipka, Mad Men (Three episodes! Loophole!)

Really? She dominates her episodes so much that I wouldn't have guessed she was in so few. She definitely deserves a nod for that "Happy Valentine's Day. I love you." which she somehow made the most heart-breaking line in the world.

Maybe a few more days? I need a few finishing touches and I feel like I'm forgetting about some major things...

Yeah, even though I doubt mine will change all that much, I rushed to get my ballot in and seen last night, and I imagine others will be similar spot. Some more days can't hurt.

I'm pushing the deadline a week. Heaven knows I'm busy enough and could use a breather myself.

I feel like a traitor having not seen The Americans S2 yet as I'm sure it would dominate my ballot.

I've only seen 8 or 9 episodes. Enough to name it one of my top five dramas of the year.

Gonna be away for a few days, so sending in my ballot now.

Don't forget to do the same, everybody! Kbyyeeee!

EDIT:
*I still haven't figured out how to fit "Cosmos" into any category. It can get a special category to itself if you want.

Seems like some big fancy televised awards shows are throwing this in with the Reality lot (even if it's because they also have a similar lack of specialized categories), so we might as well do the same.

Hey Hey, I knew I had missed the last deadline but just now while nothing is going on at work saw I have three days. So I'll be sending mine in probably last minute.

You can pm it in if you like, but having a list in the thread also counts. I need to tidy up my categories tomorrow for my own final ballot!

oh cool, having it here counts. Excellent.

I am sick sick sick but will work on tallying these as soon as I can... you know... sit upright for more than five minutes at a time. You'll want to make any last minute changes soon!
