If there's already a thread like this I apologize, but I thought it'd be nice to have a thread like this. So you know how sometimes you remember bits and pieces from a movie but you just can't remember what movie it is? Well put those bits and pieces here and someone can tell you.
So this one was posed to me from a friend of mine who goes to me when they need good movies to watch, and I couldn't remember what it was. Here's her description.
"Last night, I was thinking about something, as usual, and I recalled a scene that feels like it was from a movie. It was quite vivid, but it could still be from a book or even a dream, I guess. Anyway, in it, there's a "bad guy," just some man, just finishing up with a bout of mean ness directed at a fairly young girl (maybe as young as eleven, and not older than twenty five). She then points her finger at him and says bang, the way little boys do when they're playing make believe. The man sneers, and laughs a bit, but then he gets a look on his face like something is wrong, and starts bleeding and dies from a gunshot wound in his chest."
Anyone have any ideas?

Good idea for a thread - though, sorry, I have no idea what movie that is from.
But it does seem strangely familiar...
I've actually had my own "what the hell is that from??" scenes in my head for a long, long time now.
I remember seeing (and loving) a movie as a kid, which involved some kids in a big building (possibly a hotel?) chasing a skunk. I imagine it was from the late '60s, maybe the '70s.

Heh, that's No Deposit, No Return with Don Knotts. I've seen that movie about 20 times. It has one of the coolest car chases in it.
But yeah it's a scene on a high rise and a unfinished building in which the kids' pet skunk gets away and they try and get it back and wacky Don Knotts goes out and tries to stop the kids from falling.

Wow...you rock.
It's literally taken me like 5 years to find that out.

I forget what it's called, but there's this ridiculous spaghetti western (but not Leone) with Clint Eastwood. He kills 3 guys while getting a shave because they pissed him off, then a woman in town is rude to him so he tells her he's going to "teach her some manners" and throws her in a barn and rapes her.
Then he makes a midget sheriff/mayor. This all I saw, but it could be in the contention for best thing, ever.

High Plains Drifter. Good movie.

High Plains Drifter. Good movie.Yep. Its the strangest western Clint ever made. That midget was pretty cool and I loved that they paint the town red and rename it "Hell." I think its also the only Clint western besides Unforgiven where he plays a real bastard. I like the final shot btw.
This is an awesome idea for a thread
Today I caught some of this action flick on FX before I had to go to school. It featured Martin Sheen and Charlie Sheen and the scene I saw was Charlie and his lover being held hostage by some badies while Marty and this dude were coming to rescue them. I didn't catch what the film was called but it looked decent at best.

I believe that one was called "No Code of Conduct." Martin and Charlie play father/son police partners.

Valiant. But I'm pretty sure the film in my memory was live action.

I may have the type of bird wrong.
But yeah. Trippy indeed. This was decidedly a family film.

There are "live action" "birds" in The Dark Crystal. Not that, is it?

I have some foggy memories of a low budget horror/sci-fi movie that was probably influenced/ripping-off similar scenes in Close Encounters and Poltergeist (and Time Bandits to a certain degree). But the movie was about some kid whos closet comes alive and the toys become possessed. I think it was because of either ghosts or alien intelligence or something. I mostly remember the VHS box art with possessed toys spilling out of the closet and the kid looking all spooked. Oh and it was made in the 80s (of course!)

Sounds like it could be a Puppet Master films (of which there are a gazillion), but having seen none of them I don't know. Plus, they were almost all made in the 90s. This cover sort of resembles what you describe, but the plot seems off:

Yeah, I was thinking this or Demonic Toys (early 90's) or one of their sequels. Never saw any of them, but I remember them from my days working in a video store. The one common thread: A Charles Band Production. Have since learned to avoid anything with Mr. Band's involvement.

You never knew with Henson. That dog-riding ratdog in Labyrinth said some weird shit.

No, I remember the Puppet Master movies and Demonic Toys. This was a little earlier. Around the mid 80s or so. I think it was even PG rated which meant my parents let me watch it. It was definately in a Spielberg/Poltergeist vein, possibly just a direct to video job to grab some Spielbergian style that was popular at that time.

I don't think this fits the schema but maybe *batteries not included?
I haven't seen it but I'd kind of like to... after being mildly enthused by the director's Amazing Stories segment. This guy also directed Dragonslayer... which I saw as a kid and think I liked.

Okay so what's this kid's fantasy movie?
There's a scene in it where there's like some crazy magic sludge and it's a ceremony of some sort. A woman slides into the magic sludge and comes out a fairy and lead kid's like "wow" but then a man slide's into the magic sludge and comes out as some giant ugly head thing and the lead's like "ew" but then someone explains to him that no it's awesome to be one of these giant ugly head things.
Is this a real movie or did I dream it?

Sounds vaguely like a mashed up dream version of Willow.

Ah, it could be Willow. I will rent it and increase your rep count by a mighty 3 if your hypothesis turns out accurate.
