Idiosyncratic!

Quite. I was shocked as I was tallying.

Bastards was THIS close to three nominations.
Upstream Color was one away from Pic, Director, Screenplay, and Cinematography.

A lot of people voted only 1-3 noms for like 4-6 categories. It was bizarre the whole way through.

ART DIRECTION nominations missing?(!!)

But very nice selections, everybody! I say that especially because some categories look scary-close to my own votes.

Those are not the films I expected for Best Picture.
Guess I haven't been paying close enough attention to Match Cut.

None of my top 5 made it to best picture but then again upstream color is somewhere around number 30 on my 2013 list so I'm not really tapped in either.

Four of my top five made Best Picture. I think we did a good job.

Excellent acting nods (esp. Pegg & Woodley & Computer Chess' ensemble), Leviathan for sound, American Hustle shut out where it matters... good work you guys.

Personally I think you guys are being a bit elitist nominating all these movies I haven't seen, like The Wolf of Wall Street. What's that about: A stockbroker who's a werewolf?

It's frustrating that some of the films I most wanted to consider voting for (A Touch of Sin, Bastards, The Past) did not release their film to a viewable format in time... the shift from Chicago to Tulsa is sadly vast when it comes to screening foreign films in the theater, so the DVD market is far more necessary.

That said, I'm excited to see Wong and Malick's films pick up a few nominations here.

I really don't think Johannson's voice over work is special enough to warrant an acting nomination. Too bad that Adams was ignored in the same movie.

I like the attention for Spring Breakers, though I was hoping it would get into the Best Director and Best Picture categories as well.

Really disappointed by the Wolf of Wall Street love. What a mediocre experience that was.

Yeah. I still haven't been able to see A Touch of Sin.

I almost PM'ed you after sending my ballot to change my Best Score nominees so I could nominate Explosions in the Sky for Prince Avalanche. Glad that wouldn't have made too big a difference.
