View Full Version : Helix (Season 1)
Heard great things about this series on Syfy, which has the first three episodes up on their website. I've watches the pilot, and it's pretty intriguing. Rather like the X-files episode Ice, except longer and more involved. Don't really have a bead on the cast yet, since it is mostly focusing on the horror aspects, sense of isolation, and tone.
Not recommended to watch while eating. Because of ickiness.

We'll be starting this soon as well. I've heard a lot about it in terms of Ron Moore's abandoned ideas for The Thing, and so I'm prepared for that kind of atmosphere.
For the record, I'm going to be pretty annoyed, though not surprised, if the pretty scientists live to the end and the chubby one gets killed off quick.

Four episodes in and I'm about done. Incredibly dumb so far. Overly familiar. Going the route of early Lost where people stupidly don't share vital information with others. Or other major events are not commented on, such as with the obvious bombing of the facility's satellite dish.
I really like the premise, but I'm surprised by how little I am connecting with the characters... any of them. I'm not dropping it, but it's not as good as I wanted it to be.
I got two episodes behind before I remembered this existed... not a great sign.
