Huh, so this was actually surprisingly decent. Outside of the extra closing scene, which reeked of last minute insecurities on the parts of the film makers and ended with a song leading into the credits that just didn't fit right with the mood of the movie this time around, this was honestly one of the better horror movies I've seen in a while.

The guys who directed this are part of the collective who directed the second best V/H/S segment (the haunted house one), and I've read that they employ some of the same nifty tricks here, so I'll give this a look.

I dunno, I did find it a little odd at first when we first jumped to the surveillance footage, but by the end I didn't really mind this movie's Chronicle approach to found footage.

Did Chronicle have security cams, hidden cams and other parishoner's/citizen's cams tho? I only remember their "cheat" was the brilliant floating thing which was organic to the movie

Yup, Chronicle incorporated security cams, dash-cams, other citizen's cameras/phones, etc. all throughout.

This was terrible. Not scary at all. Poor use of found footage.

Not entirely true. The security cams, dash cams and other citizen's phones didn't start until the last 15 minutes of the movie. The meat of the movie was just the one camera.
